British Dogs Pampered Last Christmas
A leading Pet Insurer has claimed that dog owners in Britain pampered their animals with gifts and cards over the last Christmas holiday.
A survey conducted by PDSA Petsurance reveals that 92% of owners bought their dog a present over the holidays, with 30% sending a card and 62% providing a Christmas stocking.
Liza Randall of PDSA, commented that many British families would not consider leaving their dogs out of their annual Christmas celebrations, but urged owners to buy their pets a more practical gift.
"PDSA urges dog owners to make a new year's resolution to invest in a quality dog insurance policy," she said.
"It is one of the best presents you can buy your dog and could mean the difference between life and death," she added.
PDSA is the leading veterinary charity in the UK and is the largest private employer of qualified vets in Europe.
